Koen Vandewal received his PhD in Physics from Hasselt University, and spent 2 years as a postdoctoral researcher at Linkoping University (Sweden) and 2 years as a postdoc at Stanford University (USA). He currently holds the Endowed Professorship for Organic Photovoltaics, established in 2014 by several companies involved in organic electronics based in the Dresden area. His research efforts focus on fundamental opto-electronic processes in organic and molecular semiconductors and exploit them for large scale organic electronic applications, with a main focus on photovoltaics.
